Egg Tempera is a mixture of dry pigment, egg yolk and distilled water, painted on a gessoed hardboard panel. People often talk about painting of light to capture the mood of a subject but I've always found that it's the shadows that make a composition appealing. Egg Tempera is the medium that allows me to keep the painting alive with clean, fresh color no matter how dark the shadows might be. Please feel free to e-mail any questions.
